About
Language is the primary lens through which we view reality. When you learn a language, you are not just learning words and how form sentences; you are learning how another culture categorises thoughts, emotions, and priorities. This has helped in deepening empathy, as I begin to understand the "why" behind different cultural behaviours. I stop seeing others as "strange" and start seeing them as having a different, valid perspective on the world. Language learning is one of the few long-term goals that provides constant, immediate feedback loops. Every time I successfully understand a song lyric or have a conversation with my friend, my brain releases dopamine—the Happy chemical in my brain. This makes the process addictive in the healthiest way possible: it keeps me curious, resilient, and constantly engaged. Ultimately, learning a language unlocks experiences that are otherwise invisible. I gain access to untranslatable literature, raw news perspectives, and authentic human connections. That is why Language learning is often described as the closest thing we have to a superpower.
